Who this practice serves

Second Act Therapy is dedicated to women between the ages of 35 and 60 who are ready to embrace their "second act" but find themselves stuck because of anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, and emotional dysregulation. These challenges often emerge from the complex intersections of midlife transitions, perimenopause, menopause, existential angst, grief, and chronic stress. Our clients are typically high-functioning, self-aware individuals who are seeking depth-oriented transformation rather than simple symptom management.

The practice provides a specialized and inclusive space for women navigating significant identity shifts, including empty nest adjustments, career changes, and relationship transitions. We are committed to serving a diverse range of backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals, women in non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships, women from non-dominant cultural backgrounds, and those who prefer a non-religious, secular therapeutic framework.

How this practice works

Sara utilizes Somatic Depth Psychotherapy, an integrative, body-based approach that addresses the underlying drivers of presenting symptoms. By drawing on EMDR, Havening Techniques®, Jungian depth psychology, and expressive therapy, sessions work at the level of the nervous system and the psyche rather than focusing solely on the "presenting story."

This is not a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) or symptom-management practice. Instead, the work focuses on resolving root causes to foster lasting transformation. This approach helps women move beyond feeling "stuck" in midlife transitions toward a state of grounded empowerment in their second act.
