Somatic Depth Coaching for Women in Midlife
Sara Anderson · Certified Havening Techniques® Practitioner · Available Nationwide and Globally
Quick Answer
Somatic coaching is a non-clinical, depth-oriented service for women who are ready to navigate midlife transitions, burnout, and the question of who they are becoming — without the structure of clinical therapy. Unlike therapy, which is state-regulated and limited to Georgia residents, coaching is available to women anywhere in the world. Using the SOMA Arc™ framework, Havening Techniques®, and Jungian depth psychology, Sara Anderson, MA works with women nationwide and globally on the growth, reclamation, and alignment work that the second half of life is asking for.
Beyond the Therapy Room: Coaching for Your "Second Act"
Many high-achieving women in midlife aren't looking for a clinical diagnosis—they've done therapy. Or they live somewhere I'm not licensed to practice clinically. Or they simply know that what they need isn't treatment — it's depth, direction, and a thinking partner who understands the nervous system and the psyche.
That's what somatic coaching is.
The same 25 years of clinical experience. The same Jungian depth work. The same Havening Techniques®. Without the clinical frame — and without the geographic limitation. Available to women anywhere in the world.
The Difference: Therapy vs. Coaching
It is important to understand which path is right for you. Coaching does not involve diagnosis, treatment planning, or clinical intervention for mental health disorders. It is a personal development and growth service.
If you are in active psychiatric crisis, managing a serious mental health condition, or require clinical treatment — therapy is the right path.
If you're psychologically stable and ready to do the depth work of becoming — coaching is where we go.

How the work actually looks.
My coaching approach is rooted in the SOMA Arc™ framework — a depth-oriented, somatic model for midlife reclamation that I developed from 25 years of clinical work and my own experience of burnout, rebuilding, and becoming.
The work draws on:
Havening Techniques® — to reduce the accumulated stress and nervous system noise that is making it hard to hear what you actually want. Not processing trauma in the clinical sense. Clearing the static so the signal gets through.
Depth Inquiry — working with the symbolic, the archetypal, and the imaginative. The dreams that keep surfacing. The images that arrive unbidden. The recurring patterns that are pointing toward something you haven't fully named yet. This is Jungian work applied to the question of who you are in the second half of your life.
Somatic Alignment — making sure the decisions and directions you're moving toward are rooted in your body's actual knowing, not just your analytical mind's best argument. Your body has been trying to tell you something. We listen to it.
The formats.
Somatic Visioning Intensive A half-day or full-day concentrated coaching experience — for women who want to go deep quickly. Ideal for a specific transition, decision, or question that needs more than a conversation. Same structure as my therapy intensives — preparation, intensive session, integration — without the clinical frame.
Ongoing Coaching Partnership For women who want sustained depth work as they navigate their second act. We meet regularly, we track what's emerging, we follow what's alive. This is not accountability coaching. It is depth work in an ongoing container.

Where we work together.
Coaching is available via secure video to women across the United States and internationally.
If you live outside Georgia — or if you simply prefer the coaching frame to the therapy frame — this is the door in.
FAQs
Can I work with you if I don't live in Georgia?Yes. Coaching is available to women nationwide and globally. My clinical therapy practice is limited to Georgia residents by licensure. Coaching has no geographic restriction.
Is coaching covered by insurance? No. Coaching is a personal development service and is not eligible for insurance reimbursement or superbills.
Do I need a mental health diagnosis for coaching? No. Coaching is a non-clinical service and does not involve diagnosis or treatment of mental health disorders. It's designed for women who are psychologically stable and ready to focus on growth, transition, and depth work.
What is the SOMA Arc™ framework?SOMA Arc™ is a somatic depth coaching framework I developed from 25 years of clinical work — integrating Havening Techniques®, Jungian depth psychology, expressive techniques, breathwork, and and somatic awareness in service of midlife reclamation and growth. It is the intellectual foundation of my coaching work.
How is this different from therapy? In therapy, we are working within a clinical frame — addressing mental health symptoms, processing trauma, and working within the scope of my Georgia LPC license. In coaching, we are working in a growth and development frame — using the same somatic and depth tools in service of becoming rather than healing. The distinction matters both clinically and legally.
I'm not sure if I need therapy or coaching. How do I decide? That's exactly what the initial conversation is for. Reach out and we'll figure it out together. If therapy is the right fit — and you're in Georgia — we can go there. If coaching is the right fit, we can work together from anywhere.
